As soon as you cross Kalayaan Avenue towards P. Burgos, it is hard not to notice U Hotels Makati with its undustrial-modern exterior.

Upon reaching the hotel, you’ll find a well-planned parking space in front and on the side.

As you enter the Lobby, the Guard, the Receptionist, and this wall will greet you!

Oh, and there’s this Instagram-inviting accent wall.

After checking in, we went up to the 3rd floor where our room is and we’re greeted with more in-theme surpsises.

I truly can’t wait to see our room, so let’s come and check!

I just love how they put so much thought on the little details that go well with their theme.

I am more excited to see how the other rooms look and get more stories from one of the owners, Carter Yu.

U Hotels Makati got its name from the owners, the Yu brothers, Carter and Alex Yu. With their combined skills, talents and resources, this hotel which took 5 years to conceptualize, design and build, came to be.

I am lucky to be toured around the hotel by one of the owners. The stories behind every room’s design is a result of brilliance and hardwork devoted by the featured artists whose artworks are not simply displayed but are directly painted on the walls.

When I said U Hotels Makati is generous, it’s true. It keeps on giving. Here, it gives you not just food for thought but something to make you smile or laugh.

Aside from these artworks, each headboard has compelling quotations and witty remarks such as “Hindi na ako mangangako, promise”, “You are handsome my son. – Mom” and more.

It doesn’t just give… it spoils its clients with overflowing refreshments at the Lobby!
